Immanuel’s Worship and Music Ministries
“Worship is all people coming together
to experience, respond to, and grow in
Jesus’ love.” This philosophy of
worship, along with our four foundations
as a church and our vision statement,
help shape and form our worship life at
Immanuel.
*all
people – Life-long believers, new
Christians, and those who are still
searching; adults, teens and children
are all welcome in worship at Immanuel.
*coming
together – Our gathering together to
worship as a Christian community
identifies who we are and why we exist
as a church.
*to
experience – We don’t just attend
worship, we experience worship – through
hugs and touch, through the elements of
the sacraments, through kneeling,
visuals, and our God-given emotions. We
also experience new learning's, insights
and understandings.
*respond
to – Once we experience the love of
Jesus, we respond! We respond by
confessing, praising, singing, and
offering back the gifts we’ve been
given. We also respond with
petition and supplication, bringing our
needs and requests in prayer when we
have realized God's mercy
*and
grow in – We grow in the coming
together, in the experience, in our
response and in studying God’s word and
applying it to our daily lives
*Jesus’
love – It’s Jesus Christ, “Immanuel,
God With Us” whom we worship and who
forms this community of faith into
the Body of Christ and makes us one. It
takes many individuals working together
for worship to happen. Opportunities to
support Sunday worship at Immanuel
abound!
Welcoming Ministries: Along
with Immanuel members, those serving in
this area welcome folks to worship.
They also provide guests with
information about Immanuel. Hosts

building, at the Welcome Center, and at
the entrance to the sanctuary.
Ushers

worship folders, seating, collecting the
offering, communion and other aspects of
worship assistance.

Organization of a music ministry for
worship is as old as the Old Testament
temple.
The first music ministry was appointed
by King David under the instruction of
God Himself: ...all of them trained and
skilled in music for the Lord - they
numbered 288, young and
old alike (I Chronicles 25:7).
Corporate worship is the first priority
of the mission statement of Immanuel
Lutheran and many singers and
instrumentalists are needed to provide
leadership. Whether you are a
child, youth, adult, singer,
instrumentalist, actor, artist or technician, there is a place for you
to serve. The Music Ministry at
Immanuel is a place to
grow in your understanding of worship, a
place for using your gifts in service,
and a place to develop close
friendships.
